Spring blooming - Part 1

Part 1 of the Spring blooming sequence is an antigravitational work based on standing asanas, in which the legs actions are at the service of lifting the spine and pumping up the chest region. In these asanas in particular, the legs’ actions (pressing the heels, extending the knees, creating a vertical space in the joints, etc.) learn how to elongate the spine and pumping the sternum up from within, in force of this antigravitational effort. The inner space in the upper thoracic chest increases. In addition, I am proposing to use a rolled mat in the armpit chest to learn how to get access to the so-called ‘coiling action’ which is key in Iyengar yoga for chest opening.
